Southborough Little League

While winter may only be settling in now, believe it or not, it is not too early to be thinking about the Spring 2021 baseball season. As such, we wanted to provide an update on our plans, and how COVID-19 will affect what the league is able to do.

As a bit of background information: during the summer and fall of 2020, Southborough Little League was able to safely conduct baseball practices, games, and clinics for kids between the ages of 8 and 16 by following guidelines put forth by the State of Massachusetts and the Town of Southborough, as well as implementing a number of additional safety measures that was reviewed with and approved by our Recreation Department. Please find those guidelines at this link. While we were concerned initially that younger players may have a harder time keeping masks on and/or staying socially distant during baseball activities, with kids returning to school and practicing these safety measures regularly, it is our intention to offer baseball at all levels for the Spring 2021 season, as well as some number of winter clinics at HitQuarters in Shrewsbury.

Please note that so long as we remain in our current state with respect to COVID-19, any and all safety guidelines implemented this past summer and fall will remain in effect in 2021.

Of course, as conditions - and therefore guidelines from the state and town - change, our plans will need to change accordingly. If we are unable to run a Spring 2021 baseball season for whatever reason, Southborough Little League will refund your registration dues, minus a small fee to help defray costs incurred in preparing for the spring.
